What do I give myself to and in what order? The order counts for everything. There is a single Recipient, there is a single motive, there is a single focus. I often look away and when I do life scatters in different directions and I find myself not knowing which way to put my energies. I give one thing one-hundred percent and find I’m neglecting something else. I make the moving forward my goal and I go backwards. I make my God the means to an end and I lose true fellowship with Him. He is the end. He is the beginning and the end and everything in between.
“They gave themselves first to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God (2 Cor. 8:5).” Wouldn’t this simplify the life? First… and then.
