They were drawn by the hope in her eyes. She had indeed met Someone new, her eyes told the tale of her words. Someone pure and good and true, different from any man she had known before. She had left her empty pail at the well to spread the news of the man who had told her all the things she had done. The man who had highlighted her life’s quest to slake the thirst of her soul and then spoke of a “gift,” and of a drink, “living water” He called it, that would forever put to rest the need to quench a thirst. “I am he,” he said when she spoke of the promised One.
“Come, see…” she said. And they did. And they were not disappointed. They said to her, “it is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.”
