Straining at the Oars

“Seeing them straining at the oars, for the wind was against them…. He intended to pass by them.” Mark 6:48

You mean you’re just going to pass me by? When You see me straining here? Aren’t You supposed to step in and rescue me from struggles against the wind?

I guess I can see how that makes sense. When I look at You, I see in Your eyes that You know I’ll ultimately be ok and that brings a stability to my soul that’s no match for a contrary wind.

It reminds me of what You said about trouble. In this world, I’m gonna have it. But I get the comfort of knowing You, which is pretty special, since You are the very One to overcome the whole blasted thing.
